Privacy Policy

Information you provide

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. When you use the app, you enter financial data such as transactions, budgets, savings goals, and group split details. This data is stored locally on your device by default.

Automatically collected information

We collect basic analytics data including app version, device type, operating system, crash reports, and general usage patterns (e.g., which features are used most). We do not track individual transactions or financial details for analytics.

Waitlist data

If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address solely to notify you when Finsquad launches.

Your financial data (transactions, budgets, goals, splits) is used exclusively to power the app's features for you. We use it to:

• Provide expense tracking, budgeting, savings goals, and bill splitting functionality • Generate your personal analytics and spending insights • Sync your data across your devices when you enable cloud sync • Send you important account-related notifications

We do not use your financial data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties. Period.

Local-first architecture

Finsquad is built offline-first. All your financial data is stored in an encrypted local database on your device using AES-256 encryption. After initial sign-in, core features like expense tracking, budgets, and analytics work fully without an internet connection. Features that involve other users, such as bill splitting, require authentication and connectivity to sync shared data.

Cloud sync (optional)

If you enable cloud sync, your data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and encrypted at rest on our cloud servers hosted on Supabase (backed by AWS infrastructure). Cloud sync allows you to access your data across multiple devices.

Authentication

We support Google Sign-In and email-based authentication. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device and are never shared with third parties.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial data to anyone. We may share limited data only in the following cases:

• Service providers: We use Supabase for cloud infrastructure and authentication. They process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements. • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government regulation. • With your consent: If you use the split feature, your name and shared expense details are visible to other members of your split group.

You have full control over your data:

• Export: You can export all your data (transactions, budgets, splits) as CSV or PDF at any time from the app settings. • Delete: You can delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time. Local data is removed when you uninstall the app. • Offline-only mode: You can use Finsquad entirely offline without creating an account or syncing to the cloud. • Opt-out of analytics: You can disable analytics collection in the app settings.

Finsquad is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Finsquad integrates with the following third-party services:

• Google Sign-In: For authentication (governed by Google's privacy policy) • Supabase: For cloud database, authentication, and edge functions • Expo / React Native: For app delivery and over-the-air updates

We do not integrate with any advertising networks or data brokers.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you through the app. Continued use of Finsquad after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
